Chicago auto insurance quote

Reader question:
I’m attending the University of Chicago. I don’t drive much, but my parents live out of town, so I use my car to go visit them on the weekends and holidays. I’m paying so much for car insurance, though. How do I get a cheaper Chicago auto insurance quote?
Jessie
Great question, Jessie.
There are so many ways that you could be paying less on your Chicago auto insurance quote that I don’t even know how to start. First of all, you might want to take a glance at the post I made down below about good student discounts, which can take as much as fifteen percent off of your Chicago auto insurance quote and are offered by most major companies. These discounts require that you be between sixteen and twenty five and a full time student, so you probably qualify. There are other ways, though, as well.
- Low mileage discount.
You say that you don’t drive very often, Jessie, so you have a high likelihood of qualifying for this discount on your Chicago auto insurance quote. Companies will vary, but the limit on the mileage you driver year is usually around five to seven thousand, and other companies put the limit on miles driven per day instead of year, such as forty miles a day. You can usually get five to fifteen percent off of your Chicago auto insurance quote for the low mileage discount.
If, even with your infrequent visits to your parents you stil don’t qualify for the low mileage discount, you might want to make a couple of sacrifices to get this chip off your Chicago auto insurance quote. Change your home visits to once every other weekend, catch rides with friends while in town, take the bus to your parents if possible.
- Leave the car.
If you manage to get around town just fine without using your car very much, then have you considered not using it at all? If you leave your car at home with your parents and you’re going to school a hundred miles away or more, then they could get a discount on their premium so long as your name is on there. If you do it this way, you will no longer have a need for a Chicago auto insurance quote.
